A delicate, low-contrast lavender brings a relaxes and contemporary aesthetic to overshot, a traditional weaving structure that was commonly used to create coverlets during the 18th and 19th centuries. This particular design is one by Bertha Grey Hayes, a prolific designer of miniature overshot patterns who worked in Providence, RI in the early 20th century.

For a comfy yet resilient fabric, we've combined a textured linen, alpaca, and wool pattern thread with a sturdy cottolin background. The finishing touch is an envelope closure sewn with matching Hong Kong bias binding.

This is a prototype, so it's missing the Heddle & Quill label and about 25% of the price, but is otherwise up to the same standards as any other product!

  • Dimensions: 18" square (to fit a 19" or 20" pillow insert, not included)
  • Content: white thread is 60% cotton, 40% linen; lavender thread is 50% wool, 35% alpaca, and 15% linen; binding for envelope closure is 100% cotton.
  • Care: hand wash cold, dry flat; low iron if needed

Please note that our weaving studio has a feline occupant. While everything is washed and kept away from Miss Cordelia and her voluminous floof after finishing, if you have severe cat allergies you may consider washing your item again before use.
